Cases and search

How do I find a case?

Open the dashboard and use search, record-type tabs, filters, and discovery-setting sections to narrow the case list. Select a case to view its available details and source links.

Why can’t I see every case or detail?

Availability can depend on the source, your account access, and whether the original record currently publishes that information. Open the source link on a case to check the latest record.

Can I save cases for later?

Sign in to save cases and keep review progress. Dashboard preferences such as hidden controls and collapsed sections are stored in your browser.

Research tools

What do case tags and discovery sections mean?

Tags and discovery settings help organize records based on published case text. They are automated research aids, may be incomplete, and should not be treated as verified facts.

Are suggested matches confirmed identifications?

No. Match suggestions are research leads only. Verify information with the original record source or the appropriate agency; a suggested match does not confirm identity.

Where can I find API help?

See the Research API documentation for authentication, endpoints, usage limits, and examples.

Account and billing

I can’t sign in or reset my password.

Use the password reset page and check the inbox for the email address on your account, including spam or junk folders. If you still need help, contact support.

How do I manage my membership?

Open the membership page while signed in to review your plan and billing options. If billing setup is not available, your plan and case access remain available; contact support if the message persists.

How do I secure my account?

Visit Account Security to manage available sign-in protections and sessions.

Sources and accuracy

Where does Doemap’s case information come from?

Doemap organizes publicly available records from sources including NamUs and the Doe Network. Each record includes a source link when available.

Are case details and map locations always current or exact?

No. Public records may be incomplete, change over time, or contain approximate locations. Confirm details with the original source and do not treat a map location as an exact address.
